Bill Brennan
I’ll be answering questions about a recent paper I co-authored, entitled “A Qualitative Exploration of Relational Ethical Challenges and Practices in Psychedelic Healing.” It explores ethical boundary concerns unique to psychedelic healing work that, if ignored, may lead to a greater likelihood of sexual boundary transgressions and other forms of relational harm. The study is the first empirical response to the urgent need for more attention to these concerns as psychedelic therapy approaches the mainstream and becomes more widely available. The paper presents the perspectives of 23 experienced underground guides, including practices that they feel have helped them protect their clients and recommendations they gave to incoming psychedelic therapists. The Q&A will be open to any and all questions about the results.
