Reishi Strauss
Herbalist & Mycologist
Reishi Strauss is an herbalist, mycologist, and medicine maker born and raised in the Appalachian Mountains of southwestern Virginia, originally descended from Jewish Ashkenazi immigrants from Lithuania and Poland. Reishi currently resides in a wood-stove heated yurt on Orcas Island in the Pacific Northwest where she owns and operates her own medicinal mushroom business called Earth & Spirit Botanicals. In 2019 she graduated from the Naturopathic school Bastyr University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Herbal Science, having completed courses in Ethnobotany, Mycology, History of Herbal Medicine, Disease Processes, Anatomy & Physiology, Biochemistry, Herb/Drug Interactions, and more. Since graduating, Reishi has continued her studies of the intersections between ecology & the healing arts, studying psychedelic therapy, Thai massage, nonviolent communication, wilderness therapy, dance, and yoga.
